Bali, Indonesia is known for its unique traditional architecture that reflects the island's cultural and religious practices. However, the principles of Bali's traditional architecture are gradually being marginalized due to the influx of modern Western-style buildings and the focus on tourism development. Through a review of the literature, we explore the principles of Bali's traditional architecture and the reasons for their decline. We also discuss the challenges of preserving traditional architecture in the face of modernization and offer recommendations for promoting the integration of traditional and modern architecture in Bali.
